BEST OF BELGIUM

Theuns (Linio collection)

Theuns’ Linio collection stands out for its slender lines and rounded detailing. Together, the tables, cabinets and sideboards look like a Gesamtkunstwerk. But the aesthetic choices are not the only thing that catches the eye. The use of solid oak is a nod to the DNA of this Belgian company, which excels in considered craftsmanship. Connoisseurs will notice the recessed leg joint, the milled detailing and the edge finishing.

BEST INTER-NATIONAL

Kluskens (Unica)

A few words say a lot about this design by the Dutch company Kluskens. The Unica is a solid lightweight that stands out for its graceful simplicity. The chair is legible, honest and complex in its minimalism. Unica stands for top-notch craftsmanship. Without any trace of arrogance.

Best of Innovation

Revor (Neonest)

Neonest is a circular, modular bed frame made from 100 percent recycled material. A sustainable alternative to traditional wooden or metal frames, it is designed for the circular economic model of the future. As one of the few at this fair, Revor is taking steps towards real innovation beyond the current way of thinking. Although the product is not yet fully in production, this is much more than a mere thought exercise. The buy-back policy, the use of residual streams and the room for modular extensions testify to a future-proof vision. This kind of bottom-up innovation definitely has potential. Neonest stands for true innovation.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Bijnen (Cameleon)

Talk about love at first sight: this small sideboard sparkles and is guaranteed to find a place in any interior. The variety of colours naturally catches the eye. But just as interesting are the flexibility of the piece, its adaptability and the unique character of its internal layout. A feast for the eyes!

Best of BDI

Axelle Delboo, with ‘Vette indruk’

The design language of this chair is inspired by the anatomy of a bold typeface – hence The Bold Impression. Heavy, upright and with soft curves. The impression in the leather not only guides the eye, it also intuitively says something about how the chair is used. Just as a letter is read, you read this lounge chair and are automatically drawn to sit down in the expressive, pressed-in seat.
Vette indruk is a monochrome piece in which pressed leather and a glossy frame create an interplay of light and shadow. A design that pleases both the eye and the touch.
